The Vermicompost Project in Palghar, Maharashtra, is promoting organic farming. Awareness meetings and a baseline survey led to the shortlisting of 145 beneficiaries across five villages in the Wada block. Vendors were finalised for vermicompost drums, vermiculture inputs, Gliricidia plants, and spray equipment. All beneficiaries received plastic drum kits and vermiculture worms, completed drum filling with animal dung and waste, and participated in field-level training conducted in five batches. Plantation activities were initiated, with Gliricidia planting completed for 90 beneficiaries, while work for the remaining 55 was ongoing at the time of reporting. Field teams are mobilised to complete plantation activities and provide post-distribution monitoring and technical support.
