Education should be a fundamental right as it is the first step towards realising the full potential of every individual, whether it’s to discover the career they want to pursue, the sports they want to play and even the extracurricular activities that will enrich their lives. However, good quality education is still not easy to come by in India.

With this in mind, the Mukul Madhav Foundation has made the promotion of education one of its core objectives. Every child deserves to start life on the right foot, which begins with school. To bring this objective to life, we have several ongoing initiatives like infrastructural support, scholarships, supporting teachers with remuneration and training, donation of sweaters, uniforms, books, stationery essentials and more, to ensure quality education for every child, whatever their circumstances. For every reason that stops a child from attending school, we try to find a solution. Offering mid-day meals, bicycles to travel to school, proper sanitation and clean drinking water. These non-academic measures have ensured that the dropout rate, especially of female students, is low.

Our Focus Areas

Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya

Our dream project, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya, located in Golap Village, Ratnagiri, spans 10 acres of land generously provided by Finolex Industries with a vision to bring urban education to rural Maharashtra. Since its inception in 2010 with 150 students, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya has grown to over 600 students from nursery to class 12, including a junior college offering science and commerce streams. Despite its rural setting, the school provides modern facilities, well-trained faculty and comprehensive education. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, including science labs, libraries, a computer lab, a multipurpose hall, digital classrooms, and a playground, we strive to shape each student's potential for a brighter future.

Upgrading & Uplifting Educational Institutions

Many schools have excellent teachers but their infrastructure impairs their potential to become centres of learning. We have infused 35 educational institutes with renewed vigour by supporting them with infrastructural development, safe drinking water systems, sanitation facilities, classroom furniture, scholarships, teacher remunerations and digital support. We also upgrade affiliated tribal hostels with basic facilities such as mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, blankets, safety lockers and ceiling fans.

Scholarships

We provide scholarships to students from low-income families for pre-primary to post-graduation courses as well as higher education overseas. These scholarships cover diverse streams, including Agriculture, Nursing, Laboratory Technology, STEM, and Engineering. Students can avail of these scholarships by sending us a request for support.

Rural Education

Despite having one of the largest education systems in the world, the quality of education in rural India remains a challenge. Our holistic approach towards uplifting rural education includes, but is not limited to, enhancing tribal schools with infrastructural facilities such as safe drinking water systems and sanitation units, providing classroom furniture and developing the existing infrastructure. We also provide students with daily essentials and school supplies, and organise sessions in healthcare awareness, counselling and career guidance.

Skilling & Vocational Training

We organise knowledge-sharing sessions for students at rural schools in collaboration with ITI Girls College, Aundh, to impart basic plumbing skills. This equips them with the ability to address minor plumbing issues at home.

We also collaborate with Aradhana Skills, Pune, to offer livelihood training to underprivileged youth as radiology technicians and provide them with suitable employment.

Inclusive Education

We believe that every individual deserves a quality education. This enables us to create inclusive learning environments and implement educational initiatives that prioritise and support vulnerable communities, including the differently abled, special children, rural women, and the elderly.

We support the enrolment of special students in mainstream schools, and at Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya, we focus on their wellbeing by arranging medical specialists at health assessment camps.

Creative Learning

We devise innovative ways to make education more appealing and accessible to rural students. One of our initiatives includes a travelling science professor who rides across villages with lab equipment to enable rural children to experience hands-on laboratory experiments, bridging the gap between theory and practical science. We also promote art and music by enrolling children in local and state-level art competitions and training them for music grade exams. In addition, we offer our students the opportunity to explore varied subjects such as robotics and numismatics by facilitating guest sessions with subject experts.
