As you may recall, last December, Mukul Madhav Foundation and Finolex Industries Limited in association with Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, Pune conducted a unique program called ‘Cancer Diagnosis at Your Doorstep‘ for rural women from Ratnagiri and nearby villages. To take a step further in the direction of providing quality health care services to underprivileged women, this International Women’s Day we inaugurated ‘The Finolex Women’s Well Being Clinic‘ at Chirayu Hosptial, Ratnagiri by the esteemed hands of Mrs. Shamim Shere, Principal of Sou Savita Kamat Vidyamandir, Aavishkar Society for Development of Mentally Handicapped. Other dignitaries included renowned Oncologist, Dr. C.B Koppiker, Ms. Laleh Busheri of Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, Pune and Trustees of Mukul Madhav Foundation and dignitaries from Finolex Industries Limited.
Dr. Koppiker spoke about the prevalence of cancer among women in India and the need to spread awareness among women about the misconceptions surrounding cancer. Following this, Dr. Koppiker and Dr. Jyoti Chavan of Chirayu Hospital examined the women with special cases that were revealed through the cancer check-up camp organised by Mukul Madhav Foundation in December, 2013.
The services provided at this well-being clinic would be mammography and colposcopy tests at a subsidized cost as a part of Finolex’s CSR. Before the event, radiologists from Chirayu Hospital visited. Prashanti Cancer Care Mission where they were provided training under Dr. Koppiker’s expert guidance. Besides online consultation, Dr. Koppiker will be travelling to Ratnagiri every 6-8 weeks to provide his guidance and support to the patients and the team at Chirayu.
